Billionaire businessman and educationist, Dr Deji Adeleke, has publicly addressed the ongoing paternity controversy involving his son, Nigerian music star Davido.
The issue centres on Ayo Labinjoh, an Ibadan-based woman who claims she had an intimate relationship with Davido during one of his visits to the city several years ago. According to her, the relationship resulted in the birth of a daughter, Anu, whom she alleges Davido has refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for.
The matter resurfaced online recently after Anu, through her Instagram page, appealed directly to Davido, asking him to agree to a fresh DNA test in order to put lingering doubts about her paternity to rest. Her plea quickly gained attention and reignited public debate around the long-running claim.
Responding to the renewed calls, Davido maintained that multiple DNA tests had already been conducted. The singer stated that five separate DNA tests were carried out in the past and that all results reportedly showed he is not the child’s biological father.
Amid the growing online controversy, Dr Deji Adeleke held a press conference on Thursday, where he addressed the allegations and offered his perspective on the situation. While details of his full remarks are still emerging, his decision to speak publicly marks the first direct response from the Adeleke family patriarch since the claims resurfaced.
