Veteran actress and comedian Catherine O’Hara has passed away at the age of 71.
The Emmy Award–winning star died on Thursday, January 30, 2026, according to a statement released by her management team, who confirmed her death earlier today. Further details surrounding the circumstances of her passing have not yet been made public.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) confirmed to ABC News that emergency responders received a call for medical assistance at 4:48 a.m. on Friday at a residence linked to the actress. O’Hara was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition, where she later died.
O’Hara is survived by her husband, Oscar-nominated production designer Bo Welch, whom she married in 1992. According to People, the couple first met on the set of “Beetlejuice,” a detail the actress previously shared in a 2018 interview with InStyle. Together, they raised two sons, Matthew and Luke.
