Former Super Eagles Captain Troost-Ekong Joins Qatari Side Al Ahli SC

Qatar Stars League club Al Ahli SC have officially announced the signing of former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong.

The centre-back joins the Doha-based side from Saudi Arabian club Al Kholood and has penned a deal that will keep him at Al Ahli until June 2028. Troost-Ekong will wear his familiar No. 5 shirt and is expected to be a key figure in the squad as the club targets a strong finish to the season.

The 32-year-old defender shared his excitement about the move on social media, writing:

“Next Chapter! Happy to be here part of the @ahliqat family!”

Troost-Ekong leaves Al Kholood after a solid spell that saw him make 49 appearances, score two goals and provide much-needed leadership at the back. His consistency and experience were widely praised during his time in Saudi Arabia.
