Nigerian content creator Iyo Prosper has accused police officers of brutality and extortion after allegedly being forced into a police bus while heading to the gym.
On Instagram, he described a frightening ordeal in which he was beaten, robbed, and abandoned after officers allegedly drained his bank accounts.
“Nigeria has failed us!!” he wrote, explaining that he was “double-crossed by a bus filled with police officers” who forced him into their vehicle. According to his account, the officers inflicted serious injuries to his rib, seized his phones, and gained access to all his accounts, including his savings in PiggyVest.
He claims the officers then drove him to another local government area, demanding he withdraw all his money or face worse. “Mind you, these guys asked for 6 million. This place was a bush!!” he added, describing the location as isolated and threatening.
After transferring his entire savings, he alleges the officers abandoned him. “After making the transfer of all I had, they just left me stranded there like a stray. This is the height of oppression and cannot be tolerated. All my savings!!!”
