American streamer and content creator Kai Cenat is back in Nigeria, and his latest appearance in Lagos has once again captured public attention, setting off widespread online conversations about the reason behind his visit.
Footage shared across multiple social media platforms shows Kai arriving in the city, with fans and onlookers spotting him at different locations shortly after. The images and videos quickly went viral, confirming what many believe is his second trip to Nigeria and reigniting curiosity about unfinished promises linked to his previous visit.
Almost immediately, discussions shifted to the school project he pledged to support for children from the Makoko community.
Kai first travelled to Nigeria in March 2024, when he visited the Makoko Children Development Foundation School and Orphanage. The visit drew widespread attention after he reacted emotionally to reports that hundreds of pupils were sharing a single classroom. Shortly after, he announced plans to help fund a better learning environment through his foundation.
That commitment became more concrete during his Mafiathon 3 livestream in 2025, where he revealed he was willing to invest up to $5 million into the project. Due to safety and structural concerns surrounding Makoko’s floating settlements, organisers later revised the plan, relocating the proposed school to Yaba, Lagos. The facility is expected to provide free education for Makoko children, with subsidised tuition for others.
During this latest trip, Kai was also seen meeting Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, further fuelling speculation that discussions around the education project may be progressing behind the scenes. Although no official statement has been released confirming the purpose of the visit, its timing has renewed public interest in the status of the initiative.
Speaking previously about his experiences in the country, Kai said, “Nigeria is the first country where I felt 100% love.” As fans continue to follow his movements, many are now watching closely to see whether this return signals the next phase of the long-anticipated project.
