Nigerian celebrity chef and entrepreneur Hilda Baci has reached yet another historic milestone, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s most celebrated culinary figures. In a surprise development that has excited fans and food enthusiasts alike, the Guinness World Records organisation has officially confirmed that Baci is now a three-time world record holder, following a fresh review of her record-breaking achievement from September 2025.
The chef, who initially made headlines for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, revealed that the same feat has now earned her an additional global title. What began as a single record has since expanded into two, pushing her total Guinness World Records count to three.
Baci made the announcement on Tuesday via Instagram, where she also updated her bio to reflect her new status as “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.” According to her, the confirmation came months after the original record announcement, when the Guinness World Records team revisited the guidelines surrounding her achievement.
The recognition was communicated through an official email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team at Guinness World Records, who explained that upon comparing the criteria for different record categories, it was discovered that her successful attempt qualified under more than one title.
“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing (again)!
Hello Hilda,
I hope you’re well!
It has come to our attention when comparing record guidelines of the two record titles that when you and your team attempted and achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice’ – so you have been proactively awarded this record title too.
Many congratulations from me on behalf of Guinness World Records, you are Officially Amazing (again)!
All the best,
Drew

Reacting to the news, Baci described the moment as both overwhelming and deeply emotional, admitting she never anticipated that her original record-breaking effort would later unlock another global title. She shared that waking up to the email felt surreal, especially as the discovery came months after she believed the journey had already reached its peak.
The chef revealed that the first person she contacted was Oreoluwa Atinmo, her collaborator on the project, emphasising that the achievement was the result of shared vision, planning, and tireless execution. She credited their partnership and the dedication of her team as the foundation behind the success.
Baci also expressed gratitude to Guinness World Records for the recognition and to her supporters across the world, describing the achievement as a powerful reminder that sometimes, even after celebrating a win, there can still be more waiting to be uncovered.
With this latest recognition, Hilda Baci’s name continues to shine on the global culinary stage, reinforcing her legacy as a record-breaking chef and an inspiration to aspiring creatives across Africa and beyond.
