Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has taken a bold step to clear her name in the United Kingdom after being accused of drug use by her ex-husband, Prince Ned Nwoko. The mother of two faced allegations that have caused public scrutiny over the past months, but Regina is now putting the record straight.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress shared her journey over the past few months, describing it as a heavy season that “tried to sit on [her] chest” and challenge her every step. Despite the pressure, Regina credited her family, friends, and supporters for helping her navigate this difficult period.
“The past few months of my life have been nothing short of heavy… Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s the plot twist… I didn’t drown with it. Why? Because I was carried by overwhelming love, support, patience, and understanding from my family, my friends, members of the general public. And for that, I am forever grateful,” she wrote.
Taking responsibility for her reputation and integrity, Regina decided to undergo a drug test in the UK, emphasizing accountability and peace of mind as key reasons behind her decision.
“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ And honestly? I paused, then I checked again. I looked at myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict… That’s when it hit me! People often project their fears, insecurities, and negativity onto you. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth,” she said.
Regina also reflected on the choice we all face when confronted with false narratives: either let others define us or create our own story. She made it clear she will continue to define her narrative:
“As for me, I choose the latter every single time. The same mouth that was used to spoil my name is the same mouth that will build it back up. This chapter of my life is now about self-discovery, self-growth, and becoming even more intentional about who I am and where I’m going.”
Ending her post on a note of gratitude and hope, Regina Daniels thanked God for His guidance and reaffirmed her commitment to growth and resilience:
“I’m still standing, still growing and just getting started. And yes… we move. La + happy new year everyone.”
