Prophet Fire Oja Claims Spiritual Attack Behind Black Stars’ Poor Performance, Offers Solution

Prophet-Fire Oja

A Ghanaian prophet known as Prophet Fire Oja has linked the recent poor performances of the Black Stars to spiritual attacks, claiming that these unseen forces are preventing the team from achieving any major victories.

In a Facebook post, Fire Oja boldly stated that Ghana’s senior national team cannot win any trophy unless they follow his spiritual guidance. He believes he holds the “keys” that can break the alleged spiritual barriers currently affecting the team’s success.

“I have the keys 🔑 to support Black Stars but Ghanaians didn’t treat me well. The team is under spiritual attacks and they can never win any trophy 🏆 until they obey me,” the prophet, also known as Prophet Henry, shared in his post.

His comments followed Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Sudan in a 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match, played in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The loss added to the growing concerns and frustrations among fans and analysts about the team’s recent form.

Fire Oja, while insisting he could be the solution to the Black Stars’ challenges, also expressed disappointment over how he had been treated by Ghanaians. He suggested that his spiritual interventions have been ignored, which, in his view, is contributing to the team’s ongoing struggles.

Correct score

The Black Stars have faced widespread criticism for their performances in recent tournaments, and the defeat to Sudan has only intensified scrutiny. While many blame technical and tactical inefficiencies, Fire Oja’s claims have added a spiritual dimension to the conversation, suggesting that the team’s woes go beyond the physical game.

Ghana’s football scene has a history of spiritual and superstitious beliefs, with some fans and players attributing successes and failures to divine or mystical influences. Fire Oja’s latest assertions tap into this cultural context, where some believe that spiritual intervention can influence a team’s fortunes on the field.

The prophet’s offer to assist the Black Stars spiritually has yet to receive a response from the team or the Ghana Football Association (GFA). As the Black Stars prepare for future matches, whether they will consider Fire Oja’s claims or stick to more conventional strategies remains to be seen.

With the 2025 AFCON qualifiers continuing, the national team’s future success will depend not just on potential spiritual solutions but also on technical improvements, player development, and tactical strategies. The fans, frustrated by a lack of trophies and inconsistent performances, will be watching closely to see what steps are taken to reverse the team’s fortunes, be it spiritual or practical.
