Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has weighed in on the arrest of Evans Eshun, widely known as Ebo Noah, the man who went viral late last year after claiming God had instructed him to build an ark ahead of a massive flood in Ghana.
Reacting publicly, the award-winning artiste appeared puzzled by the arrest, suggesting that Ebo Noah may have been engaging in content creation rather than committing any serious crime.
In an Instagram story shared on January 2, 2026, Sarkodie reposted a video showing Ebo Noah in handcuffs as police officers escorted him into a patrol vehicle. The rapper’s response quickly caught attention online.
“Don’t know exactly what my boy’s crime is, but from day one I knew he was making content, unless he’s been charged with something else,” Sarkodie wrote, hinting that the so-called prophecy may not have been intended to be taken literally.
Ebo Noah was arrested on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, following months of growing public anxiety sparked by his prediction that a devastating flood would hit Ghana on December 25, 2025. The prophecy spread rapidly across social media and caused fear in some communities.
Born Evans Eshun, the 33-year-old content creator and self-proclaimed prophet rose to fame toward the end of 2025 after declaring that he had received divine instructions about an impending global flood that would last three years.
He documented his activities on TikTok and YouTube, showing himself constructing wooden “arks” in places such as Elmina and Kumasi. According to him, the vessels — reportedly up to ten — were meant to save believers when the rains began on Christmas Day, mirroring the biblical story of Noah.
When December 25 came and went without any flood, Ebo Noah later claimed that intense prayers and fasting had convinced God to postpone the disaster. That explanation, however, did little to calm public anger.
Tensions escalated further when Ebo Noah appeared on stage during Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert on the very day the flood was expected to begin, a move that triggered backlash and renewed criticism online.

On December 31, the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team arrested him at Weija-Gbawe, citing the spread of false information and the creation of fear and panic among the public.
Two days later, on January 2, 2026, the Adentan Circuit Court remanded Ebo Noah into police custody for two weeks and ordered that he undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital. He is expected to reappear in court on January 16, 2026.
As the case unfolds, Sarkodie’s comments have added another layer to an already heated national conversation about prophecy, content creation, freedom of expression, and public safety in the age of social media.
