The Shaxi-YEA partnership is aimed at providing thousands of Ghanaian youth with access to employment through the ride-hailing business. Shaxi, short for “Shatta Taxi”, is a local ride-hailing company launched by Shatta Wale with the mission of giving unemployed youth the opportunity to earn a decent living.
At today’s ceremony, stakeholders from both organizations expressed their shared vision to support economic growth, reduce unemployment, and train young Ghanaians in various aspects of the transportation and digital economy.
Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale, known not only for his music but also his entrepreneurial efforts, took center stage at the event. As CEO of Shaxi, he emphasized the importance of creating real opportunities for the youth:
“This is not just about business—this is about building futures. Together with YEA, Shaxi is ready to give Ghanaian youth the platform they need to succeed.”
