Nigeria’s Super Eagles are reportedly threatening to boycott training and delay their trip to Marrakech ahead of their crucial AFCON 2025 quarter-final clash against Algeria because the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not paid their winning bonuses.
The three-time African champions, who stormed into the last eight with a 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the round of 16, are demanding payment for agreed incentives covering both the group stage and knockout rounds.
Despite financial support from the government, players and officials still have not received their bonuses from all four matches played in Morocco so far, according to renowned Nigerian journalist Oluwashina Okeleji.
With the team scheduled to travel to Marrakech today, reports say the squad plans to stay back in Fez and boycott training if their demands are not met, sending a strong message to the NFF ahead of Saturday’s big game against Algeria.
