The Super Eagles will be without their captain, Wilfred Ndidi, when they face Morocco in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ndidi has been suspended for the crucial clash after picking up two yellow cards during the tournament. The midfielder was first booked in Nigeria’s round-of-16 encounter againstt Mozambique before receiving another caution in the quarter-final win over Algeria.
Under AFCON regulations, a player who accumulates two yellow cards in separate matches is automatically handed a one-match suspension, ruling Ndidi out of the semi-final showdown against the Atlas Lions.
His aabsence will be a significant blow for Nigeria, with the Leicester City midfielder playing a key leadership role and anchoring the Super Eagles’ midfield throughout the competition
