A storekeeper at Tatale Senior High School in Ghana’s Northern Region is in trouble after students caught him allegedly trying to steal foodstuffs from the school stores.
The incident happened when students, who had grown suspicious of missing supplies, set up an ambush.
According to reports, the storekeeper and another man were removing food items when the students suddenly confronted them. A viral video now circulating online shows the storekeeper holding the goods while students shout at him.
As soon as the shouting started, he ran off and left the other man behind.The case has been reported to the Northern Regional Director of Education, who has ordered a full investigation. Authorities at Tatale Senior High School have confirmed that the matter is being looked into properly.
The story has sparked strong reactions online, especially because the school operates under the government’s Free SHS programme, where food is provided for students.
