TikTok star and humanitarian Shirley Raines, widely known as “Miss Shirley,” has died at the age of 58.
Raines, celebrated for her tireless volunteer work with homeless communities on Skid Row in Los Angeles, passed away at her home in Henderson, Nevada, on Tuesday, January 27. Her death was confirmed by her sister, Sheila, who told TMZ that Shirley was found unresponsive by her bed.
According to her family, no foul play is suspected. Shirley was reportedly in good health and was not taking any medication at the time of her death. The exact cause has not yet been disclosed.
Her non-profit organisation, Beauty 2 The Streetz, also confirmed the news in a heartfelt social media post, describing her passing as a devastating loss. The organisation, which has over one million followers on Instagram, praised Raines for dedicating her life to serving others.
“It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Beauty 2 The Streetz announces the passing of our beloved CEO and founder, Shirley Raines,” the statement read. “She dedicated her life to serving others and made an immeasurable impact on homeless communities throughout Los Angeles and Nevada.”
The charity added that through her compassion, advocacy, and powerful online presence, Shirley helped restore dignity, provide resources, and bring hope to some of the most underserved people.
Her family said they are deeply shocked by her sudden passing, while her organization noted that her legacy will continue through the lives she touched and the work she began.
