Some locals blame the frequent accidents on timber trucks plying the road at odd hours, often fully loaded and sometimes allegedly speeding. Others point to poor lighting, weak road markings, and driver fatigue as contributing factors.

Police are expected to commence investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether mechanical failure, speeding, or human error played a role.
