My gov’t won’t champion LGBTQ+ rights – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his stance against LGBTQ++ rights, stating that his government, if elected, will not tolerate the promotion of such practices in Ghana.

Addressing the clergy on Tuesday, Mahama emphasized his strong Christian beliefs which he said is strongly opposed to same-sex marriages, human-animal relationships and changer of gender.

He stated these actions go against his religious convictions and will not be accepted under his administration.

Mahama assured the public that, under his leadership, LGBTQ++ and its related ideologies will not be promoted in schools or communities.

He highlighted that his stance is deeply rooted in his personal faith and values, stressing that traditional cultural and moral beliefs would be preserved.

His remarks come at a time when LGBTQ++ rights remain a contentious issue in Ghanaian society, and he has vowed to uphold these principles firmly in any future government he leads.

Mahama assured the public that, under his leadership, LGBTQ++ and its related ideologies will not be promoted in schools or communities.
