Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has defended his integrity, declaring that none of his superiors can accuse him of corruption throughout his time at the NDC Headquarters and Jubilee House.
In a pointed challenge, Gbande compared himself with Dennis Miracles Aboagye and questioned which of them Ghanaians should be more concerned about allowing near the corridors of power.
“I’m proud to say that from NDC Headquarters to Jubilee House, none of my bosses can accuse me of corruption,” Gbande stated.
He added: “Between Dennis Miracles Aboagye and me, whom should Ghanaians be afraid to allow near the corridors of power?”
Gbande Defends His Integrity
The NDC Deputy General Secretary’s remarks centre on his personal record and his assertion that he has not faced accusations of corruption from his superiors during his time in public and party-related roles.
His comments also bring the issue of integrity among political figures into the public discussion, particularly the importance of accountability and public trust for individuals who occupy positions of influence.
Challenge Raises Questions About Public Trust
By directly mentioning Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Gbande has framed the matter as a comparison between the two individuals and their suitability for proximity to political power.
However, the statement represents Gbande’s own position. Any assessment of either individual’s conduct should be based on verifiable evidence rather than political exchanges or personal claims.
The remarks are likely to draw attention to broader questions about transparency, accountability and the standards Ghanaians expect from people who serve in political and public offices.
