Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has once again addressed questions about his future at the club, admitting that his time at the Etihad will eventually come to an end.
The Spanish tactician, who has led City through one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, said his departure is inevitable, even if it is not happening immediately. Guardiola explained that discussions about his future have followed him consistently over the last few years, making it clear that he does not see himself remaining in the role forever.
“In the last three or four years, every time in a certain period you ask me about my future. So yeah, sooner or later at 75 or 76 years-old, I will quit Man City,” Guardiola said.
Despite acknowledging that his reign will end at some point, the 53-year-old stressed that he remains fully committed to the club for now. Guardiola revealed that he still has 18 months left on his current contract and described himself as happy and energized by the ongoing development of his squad.
“I have 18 months left on my deal. I’m so delighted, happy, excited in development of the team,” he added.
Guardiola’s comments come amid continued speculation about his long-term plans, especially given his past statements about taking breaks from management or stepping away once he feels his cycle at a club is complete. Since joining Manchester City in 2016, he has transformed the team into a dominant force in English and European football, winning multiple Premier League titles and delivering the club’s first Champions League triumph.
