Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has been honoured as GQ Sportsman of the Year 2025 by GQ Magazine’s Turkish edition.
The award was presented at a black-tie ceremony in Istanbul on Wednesday, December 10, where top figures in sports, entertainment, and fashion were celebrated for excellence in their fields.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray earlier this year, has enjoyed a remarkable run in Turkey. The 26-year-old striker delivered an explosive debut season, scoring 37 goals and providing seven assists in 41 appearances. His performances were instrumental in helping Galatasaray secure a domestic double, lifting both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
GQ Turkey described Osimhen as one of the most influential athletes in the country, praising his competitive spirit, professionalism, and impact on Galatasaray’s title campaign.
In his acceptance speech, the Nigerian international dedicated the award to everyone who has supported him.
“For my family, for Galatasaray, for the fans all over the world, I will continue to do my very best. Thank you so much for this, I am grateful to all of you,” Osimhen said.
This latest honour adds to his growing list of recognitions and further cements his reputation as one of Africa’s top forwards and one of Europe’s most consistent performers.
