Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and comedy icon Kwame Dzokoto, famous for his role in Efiewura, has opened up about his severe health scare. The beloved entertainer revealed how former First Lady Lordina Mahama stepped in when heart complications threatened his life.
During an interview on Blakk Empire Television’s The Black Pot, Dzokoto explained that his condition required urgent specialized medical care beyond local options. Without her timely intervention, getting the required surgery outside Ghana would have remained out of reach.
Dzokoto shared that he was battling severe blood pressure and heart-related complications when Mrs. Mahama got wind of his situation. Deeply concerned about his failing health, she personally pressed businessman Ibrahim Mahama to intervene.
The business mogul stepped up immediately and funded Dzokoto’s travel and medical expenses for surgery overseas. Today, Dzokoto confirms he is in good health and living comfortably.
The veteran actor also addressed a viral photograph that alarmed fans and sparked online health rumors recently. He clarified that the visible swelling resulted from consuming adulterated honey containing hidden caramel sugar.
He had stopped taking refined sugar and switched to honey, unaware that the product was mixed with caramel. Once he stopped consuming the fake honey, the bodily swelling completely subsided.
Dzokoto expressed deep gratitude to the Mahama family, praising their philanthropic spirit while asking the public to separate charity from politics. He noted that selfless acts of kindness keep hope alive for many Ghanaians in times of crisis.
He also touched on his personal achievements, noting that despite holding a law degree and a master’s, he remains grounded and content with life. His story stands as a testament to the power of human compassion during difficult times.
