FC Barcelona are set to formally confirm a new long-term contract for Brazilian forward and club captain Raphinha, keeping him at the Catalan club until June 2030.
The renewal represents Barcelona’s commitment to one of their most important players under manager Hansi Flick.
According to reports, the agreement was reached in September, with the contract documents reportedly signed in early October. The club has now scheduled a formal signing ceremony for Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Barcelona confirmed that Raphinha will sign the extension in the office of club president Joan Laporta at 12:00 p.m. CET before speaking to the media.
Raphinha Commits His Future to Barcelona
The new agreement extends Raphinha’s previous contract, which was due to expire in 2028, by another two seasons.
The 29-year-old Brazilian has become an important figure in Barcelona’s squad, not only because of his performances on the pitch but also because of his leadership as first-team captain.
His performances have been particularly impressive during the 2026/27 season, with 19 goals so far across La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona also highlighted his place in the club’s history. He has made 190 appearances, making him the fourth Brazilian player with the most appearances for the club. His 94 goals also place him fourth among Barcelona’s Brazilian goalscorers.
A Major Boost for Hansi Flick
Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022 and has continued to develop into one of the team’s leading attacking players.
His work rate, creativity, pressing ability and goalscoring contributions have made him an important part of Flick’s plans.
Securing his future until 2030 gives Barcelona continuity as the club continues to build its squad around key players.
For Raphinha, the extension represents another important milestone in his Barcelona career and a sign of the club’s confidence in his leadership and contribution.
The formal signing ceremony and media appearance will give supporters an opportunity to celebrate the captain’s continued commitment to the Blaugrana.
