Bukayo Saka has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, a deal that will keep him at the club until 2031 and make him one of the highest-paid players in the squad.
The 24-year-old winger, whose previous contract was set to run until June 2027, is finalising improved terms as Arsenal move quickly to secure the core of their team for the future. The club have already tied down key names like William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Saka’s renewal is seen as the most important of them all.
Since breaking through from Arsenal’s academy, Saka has grown into the heartbeat of the team under Mikel Arteta. He has played more minutes than any other Arsenal player since Arteta took charge in 2019, a clear reflection of the manager’s trust in him. In total, Saka has made 290 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 77 goals and consistently delivering at the highest level.
His influence has been especially clear during Arsenal’s recent title challenges. In the 2023/24 season, Saka recorded 20 goals and 14 assists in all competitions as Arsenal finished just two points behind Manchester City in the Premier League. Last season, despite missing three months due to a hamstring injury that required surgery in December 2024, he still managed 12 goals and 13 assists in 37 appearances.
This season, Saka has continued in the same vein, contributing seven goals and six assists in 27 games across all competitions. His performances remain central to Arsenal’s attacking play, with much of the team’s threat coming down the right flank where he operates.
Many within the club view Saka’s new contract as more significant than the £250 million Arsenal spent to sign eight new players last summer. His bond with the supporters, his journey from the academy, and his consistent elite-level output make him virtually impossible to replace.
The new deal will see Saka remain at Arsenal through the peak years of his career, giving the club a chance to benefit from further growth and progression. This season is shaping up to be a crucial one as he looks to help Arsenal win a major trophy for the first time since lifting the FA Cup in 2020.
The new deal will keep Saka at Arsenal through the peak years of his career, offering stability for both player and club. His importance goes beyond goals and assists, as he remains a constant presence in a side still chasing major silverware.
With Arsenal pushing to turn strong performances into trophies, Saka’s continued commitment gives the club a solid foundation to build on as the season progresses.
