Every phone dealer at Kwame Nkrumah Circle knows business can be very risky when you carry expensive gadgets to meet new clients. That is exactly what happened to Nana Yaw, popularly called Dinero or Terry, who left his usual spot for a deal. He drove his sleek Honda Civic all the way to Teshie hoping to sell some phones and make a good profit. Little did he know that this routine business trip would turn into a heartbreaking nightmare for his family and friends.
Before he got to the final meeting point, he did something smart by sharing his live location with a close friend. That safety measure gave his people a slight head start to monitor his movements in a busy neighborhood. However, peace did not last long because the friend checked the phone shortly after and noticed something very strange. The live location had vanished completely from their chat, and all subsequent calls to his phone went straight to voicemail.
Search Efforts and Police Involvement
Three days have rolled past since Nana Yaw and his Honda Civic vanished into thin air without leaving any clues. His friends and family have searched through police stations and hospitals around Teshie and beyond, but still no sign. The matter has been officially reported to the Ghana Police Service so investigators can track his last known digital footprints. Cyber experts are currently looking into his phone logs and online activities to figure out who set up this deadly meeting.
Circle has been very quiet and gloomy as fellow phone dealers gather in small groups to discuss this shocking news. Everybody is praying hard that our brother returns home safely to his loved ones without any physical harm. People are now warning each other to be extremely careful when going out to meet strangers for online or phone transactions. A simple business appointment should not turn into a life and death situation just because of mobile phones.
Safety Lessons for Online Sellers
This sad incident reminds all Ghanaian online vendors and street dealers never to trust every single buyer who calls them. It is always better to meet in very open public spaces like police stations or busy shopping malls for transactions. Sharing your live location with multiple relatives is good, but going with a trusted friend is even safer.
