The La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly has issued a firm directive to commercial traders operating illegally on the Madina Zongo Junction footbridge. Pedestrians have raised serious concerns about being blocked from using the overhead walkway safely. Trading activities on the infrastructure have forced vulnerable walkers to risk their lives crossing busy highways instead.
Assembly authorities stressed that public walkways were built strictly for pedestrian safety rather than commercial stalls or market activities. Traders turning stairways and platforms into mini markets must vacate the area immediately before forceful evictions begin. Municipal taskforces will monitor compliance closely to restore sanity and protect citizens from preventable road accidents.
Pedestrians deserve unobstructed paths when moving across major urban intersections during daily commutes. Local leaders urge all business operators to respect municipal bylaws and relocate to designated market stalls.
