Ghanaian gospel musician Florence Obinim has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, Bishop Angel Obinim, after 24 years of marriage.
Reports indicate that her divorce claims include GH¢2 million in damages, several properties and financial support for her personal upkeep.
Among the reported demands is a multi-storey property featuring residential apartments, guest-house facilities and church facilities.
She is also reportedly seeking ownership or a share of several properties, including Abroso Guest House in Accra and a mansion at Trassaco Valley in East Legon.
Other properties mentioned in the reported claims include a mansion in Spain, a 21-unit block of shops in Tema and a church building in Tema.
In addition to the properties, Florence Obinim is reportedly seeking GH¢10,000 weekly to cover her upkeep and personal expenses.
The claims also include two luxury cars, alongside any additional properties or assets the court may consider appropriate.
The reported divorce proceedings have attracted attention because of the couple’s long marriage and the value of the assets said to be involved.
However, the specific claims and the final division of any marital property would depend on the court proceedings and any agreement reached by the parties.
The reported demands should not be treated as a final court ruling. Further confirmation of the court filings and the status of the case is needed.
