Navigating through heavy traffic in Accra and Kumasi often comes with a familiar sight of persistent street begging at major intersections. Recent security directives have finally shifted things into high gear to restore public order across urban centers. The Ghana Immigration Service recently swept through town hotspots and removed one thousand and fifty-five undocumented foreign nationals.
Acting directly on clear orders from Interior Minister Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, security operatives targeted well-known syndicate hubs. Intelligence reports revealed that many of these individuals were trapped inside exploitative networks rather than just seeking daily bread. Authorities processed the intercepted persons for safe repatriation back to their respective home countries.
Ghana remains widely known for friendly hospitality toward visitors across the West African subregion. However, letting unverified networks manipulate vulnerable populations on highways compromises national security and public safety. Law enforcement agencies plan to sustain these intelligence operations until city streets remain completely free from organized exploitation.
