NPP National Communications Team member Lawuratu Musah-Saaka has delivered a strong message on the protection of girls, stressing that no man’s sexual gratification is worth destroying a young girl’s dignity, childhood or future.

Musah-Saaka’s remarks highlight the importance of protecting children from sexual abuse and ensuring that those who exploit young people are held accountable under the law.

Her statement has also drawn attention to the lasting consequences sexual abuse can have on victims, including emotional trauma, psychological distress and disruptions to their education and personal development.

‘No Man’s Orgasm Is Worth Destroying a Young Life’

In her remarks, Musah-Saaka emphasised that a girl’s dignity, childhood and future must always take priority over an abuser’s desires.

She made it clear that no man’s sexual gratification can justify inflicting harm on a young girl or taking away the opportunities she deserves.

The message reinforces a fundamental principle: children are entitled to safety, dignity and protection from exploitation, regardless of the circumstances.

Sexual abuse can leave survivors struggling with fear, shame, emotional distress and other long-term consequences. Protecting children therefore requires more than public condemnation; it demands practical action from families, schools, communities and law enforcement agencies.

Protecting Girls Must Be a Collective Responsibility

The protection of girls should not be left to parents and guardians alone. Schools, religious institutions, community leaders and relevant authorities all have a responsibility to create environments where children feel safe and can report abuse without fear.

Schools must take complaints seriously, establish appropriate safeguarding procedures and ensure that children know where to seek help.

Parents and guardians also need to create trusting relationships with their children so that young people feel comfortable speaking up when something is wrong.

When allegations of abuse arise, they must be investigated promptly and fairly. Children should be treated with dignity, their privacy protected, and their safety placed at the centre of every response.

Accountability Is Essential in the Fight Against Sexual Abuse

Musah-Saaka’s statement also raises an important question about accountability when children are sexually abused.

Anyone who exploits a child must be subject to investigation and, where wrongdoing is established, the appropriate legal consequences.

At the same time, allegations must be handled through proper procedures to ensure that investigations are fair and evidence is carefully examined.

Survivors should never be blamed for the abuse they experience. Instead, they need access to appropriate support, including counselling, medical care and trusted adults who can help them navigate the recovery process.

Silence and stigma can make it harder for victims to seek assistance. Communities must therefore encourage safe reporting and reject attitudes that excuse abuse or shift responsibility onto children.

Lawuratu Musah-Saaka’s message places the dignity, safety and future of girls at the centre of the conversation about sexual abuse.

No child should have to sacrifice her childhood, education or wellbeing because of another person’s actions. Protecting young people requires responsible leadership, effective safeguarding, fair investigations and accountability for proven abuse.

Every girl deserves to grow up in safety, pursue her dreams and live with dignity. Her future must never be treated as less important than anyone else’s gratification.
