Political tensions have skyrocketed in the country following recent strong remarks from New Patriotic Party communication team member Kofi Tonto during an interview on Adom Online. He did not bite his tongue when he descended heavily on the current administration for failing to fulfill major campaign promises made to ordinary citizens. According to him, the much-talked-about twenty-four-hour economy policy remains a mirage while everyday inflation and skyrocketing fuel prices continue to break the pockets of suffering citizens.
Beyond economic hardships, the critique touched on serious security concerns regarding governance and state control. Tonto boldly claimed that the administration is fast running a deceptive government that oversees illicit drug networks while clamping down heavily on dissenting voices. He argued that instead of easing the heavy economic burdens confronting families at home, state apparatuses are allegedly being weaponized to target political opponents and stifle free speech under a growing police state atmosphere.
The public debate continues to draw sharp reactions from various political corners as citizens demand transparency on national security and economic direction. While government defenders often dismiss these accusations as mere opposition propaganda aimed at scoring cheap political points, critics insist the reality on the ground speaks volumes.
