Former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has reportedly lodged a complaint with FIFA against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the termination of his contract in March.
Addo is seeking more than $750,000 in compensation, arguing that the GFA unilaterally terminated his contract.
According to reports, the former Ghana coach made several unsuccessful attempts to secure payment from the football governing body before deciding to take the matter to FIFA.
The complaint is expected to bring the disagreement over his contract termination before FIFA for consideration.
The case could require the football governing body to examine the terms of Addo’s contract, the circumstances surrounding its termination and the compensation being demanded.
Addo previously served as head coach of the Black Stars, Ghana’s senior national football team. His departure in March marked the end of his latest spell in charge of the team.
The GFA has yet to provide its position on the reported FIFA complaint in the information available for this report.
The outcome of the case will depend on FIFA’s assessment of the contractual agreement and the arguments presented by both parties.
