Traditional authorities in Krobo traditional area have made a shocking spiritual U-turn after sacred artifacts vanished into thin air. The sitting chief sat down with his elders and reached a very funny yet logical conclusion about the unfortunate incident. Since the local deities failed woefully to protect themselves from ordinary thieves, keeping them around made zero practical sense.
The traditional council unanimously decided to hand over the entire community lands directly to Jesus Christ instead of replacing the missing idols. Elders reasoned that an invisible supreme being who stays safe from petty burglary offers much better protection than powerless wooden carvings. Traditional priests who spent years pouring libations must now find alternative employment while church bells replace gong-gong sounds.
Local residents have expressed mixed feelings ranging from absolute amusement to deep shock over this drastic religious migration. Christianity continues to gain massive ground across rural Ghana as traditional beliefs face modern security challenges. Turning an entire traditional territory over to the Christian faith proves that even ancestral custodians value security above heritage when push comes to shove.
