The Concerned Youth of Asante has issued a strong warning regarding the involvement of government appointees in traditional chieftaincy affairs.

Group President Nana Agyenim Boateng, also known as Gyataba, claims that political interference in stool matters threatens the peace and stability of local communities.

The group highlighted the Sampa traditional area as a major point of concern. They assert that Nana Samgba Gyafla II, the Sampamanhene, holds full legitimacy through customary rites and state gazetting.

Despite this legal status, a rival claimant has emerged, leading to significant unrest. The youth group alleges that two supporters of the recognized chief were killed during recent violence, claiming that local security responses remained inadequate.

This issue appears to extend beyond Sampa, with the group pointing to similar tensions in Bawku. They argue that some government officials are backing unauthorized claimants, which actively undermines the traditional judicial process.
