The desperate desire of many young citizens to secure stable public sector employment has once again been exploited by clever protocol syndicates. An Accra court has started trial proceedings against a forty-one-year-old hospital ward assistant following a massive recruitment fraud scandal connected to the Ghana Armed Forces.

The suspect allegedly collaborated with a retired military officer to collect enormous sums of money from multiple victims under the false pretense of securing them slots in the next military training intake. The developing case highlights the growing dangers of paying huge protocol fees to middlemen for security service jobs.

The prosecution, led by Inspector Frank Morgan Dorvi, revealed that the entire scam resulted in the theft of over 1.6 million Ghana cedis. The female suspect, Patience Mbaye, reportedly used her social connections to convince unsuspecting job seekers that she possessed inside influence within the military high command.

Between 2023 and 2024, an okada rider named Abdul Malik Ali met Mbaye and fell heavily for the protocol connection narrative. Ali immediately informed his sister and a local Prisons Officer named Fatima Adam who also became highly interested in the recruitment slots. Fatima even placed a direct phone call to Mbaye to verify the arrangement, receiving absolute assurances that the syndicate had successfully placed dozens of young Ghanaians into the army previously.

Former Senior Warrant Officer Remains on the Run from Police

The illegal financial operations were carefully structured to look authentic to the desperate job seekers. Mbaye instructed the complainants to deposit their cash directly into specific GCB Bank accounts managed by her co-conspirator, Ex-Senior Warrant Officer Jeffery Naboung.

The final police audit shows that Mbaye personally collected six hundred and seventy-five thousand Ghana cedis from twenty-six hopeful applicants. Her military partner, Jeffery Naboung, managed to gather over one million Ghana cedis from forty-seven separate victims before vanishing into thin air. While Mbaye has been successfully hauled before the law, security agencies are hunting for the retired officer across the country.

Patience Mbaye faced the Accra court on joint charges of conspiracy to commit crime and multiple counts of defrauding by false pretences. The forty-one-year-old hospital worker firmly pleaded not guilty to all the criminal charges leveled against her brand.

The presiding judge admitted her to a bail condition of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis with three justified sureties. To satisfy the court rules, at least one of the sureties must be an active public servant with verified credentials. Additionally, the accused person must report physically to the case investigator every Wednesday and Friday until the case resumes on July 27, 2026.

This painful embezzlement case serves as a timely reminder to all Ghanaian parents and youth that protocol recruitment shortcuts usually end in total financial disaster. The Ghana Armed Forces administration has consistently stated that its official enlistment processes are purely based on personal merit, physical fitness, and transparent examination results.

The military command does not use independent civilian agents, ward assistants, or retired officers to sell protocol forms or recruit individuals through backdoors. Job seekers must strictly apply through the official national newspapers and state portals whenever recruitment windows open, completely avoiding any middleman who demands huge cash deposits under the table.
