A-Plus Announces 270MW Solar Project for Gomoa

Earlier today, I led a delegation from AKA Energy Systems, headed by its CEO, to meet with H.E. the President to formally inform him that preparations have begun towards the construction of a 270 MW solar energy project to power the Gomoa Special Economic Zone, a major manufacturing, industrial and commercial hub, as well as the Gomoa Eco Park.

The project will be developed in phases, and we assured H.E. the President that Phase One will be completed by the end of 2027.

Let that sink in for a second! We aren’t just talking about a few solar panels slapped onto a rooftop to power a handful of streetlights. We are talking about a massive 270-megawatt clean energy powerhouse designed to fuel an entire industrial city right here in Ghana. Have you ever wondered why so many industrial hubs start strong on paper but struggle to deliver in real life? The answer almost always comes down to power outages and sky-high electricity bills. IMO, fixing the energy bottleneck before inviting factories to set up shop is the ultimate move, and I couldn’t be more excited to share how this journey is unfolding!

Power cuts, voltage drops, and ridiculous utility tariffs eat up every bit of profit. Honestly, it is like buying a hypercar without building a paved road first.

We made a conscious choice to flip that outdated script entirely. By partnering with Canada-based AKA Energy Systems, we are building a dedicated energy backbone before the manufacturing lines even turn on.
