We have received very sad news from the Eastern Region today. A fatal crash at Asubuo in Suhum has sadly left one person dead. The sudden incident has thrown many families into deep tears and total shock.
Five other passengers sustained various degrees of injuries during the unfortunate crash. Emergency rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene to help the trapped victims. They rushed all the injured people to the nearest government hospital for urgent medical attention.
Reckless Highway Driving Must Stop Immediately
Some commercial drivers think they are flying an airplane instead of driving a normal car. They completely ignore basic speed limits just to pick up more passengers quickly. This rushing attitude continues to destroy innocent lives on our major roads every single day.
The police Motor Traffic and Transport Department officers are currently investigating the crash scene. They want to gather all the facts and understand exactly what caused this fatal accident. Drivers who break the law must face serious punishment to serve as a strong warning.
Passengers Must Speak Up For Their Own Safety
You must never sit quietly when your driver starts overspeeding or overtaking wrongly. Your life is extremely valuable so please boldly complain when you feel unsafe. Tell the driver to slow down or simply get down at the next safe town.
Road safety is a shared responsibility for every Ghanaian citizen. We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family who lost their beloved relative. We also pray that God heals the five injured victims quickly so they can return home safely.
