Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has met with the leadership and members of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to discuss the government’s New Economy agenda.
The meeting focused on the government’s economic priorities and plans to strengthen Ghana’s economy.
Dr Ato Forson outlined key areas of the government’s economic programme. He also explained how the policies are expected to support economic growth and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
The minister also engaged TUC representatives on issues affecting workers and organised labour.
The discussions covered matters related to employment, wages and the wider economy.
The meeting forms part of the government’s efforts to engage key stakeholders on its economic policies.
The TUC is an important partner in discussions on issues affecting workers across the country.
The engagement also gave TUC leaders the opportunity to raise concerns and seek clarification on government policies.
Dr Ato Forson said the government’s economic direction requires cooperation with key stakeholders, including organised labour.
The government has continued to engage different groups as it works to implement its economic programmes.
The discussions with the TUC are expected to support further dialogue between government and organised labour.
