Shatta Wale has really suffered in life oo. In a recent interview where Kafui Dey interviewed Epixode, who has been with Shatta Wale during their childhood when they all grew up in Korle Gonno and Dansoman and later were on the same record label with Shatta Wale with the artist name Bandana.
Epixode made it clear that he got close to Shatta Wale through his graphic design works, and he even designed the SM for Life logo for Shatta Wale.
He stated that after Bandana he was branded as Dubli Wale and then finally changed to Shatta Wale because most of his team members then had “Shatta” in their names. Shatta Wale has not changed; he is still the same person, the same funny guy, the no-nonsense guy, and he is just different.
He is the type that one minute you want to be around him, and the next minute when he gets angry, you wouldn’t want to get close, he says. Expixode worked for Shatta Wale and some team members for free because he believed in Shatta Wale just as Shatta believed in himself.
Rudeboy Sterling, who later became Mr. Logic, discovered Epixode and some other reggae/dancehall underground artists like Jupita, Stonebwoy, etc. in Ghana since he was the major presenter on radio hosting a reggae/dancehall show on Xfm. Mr.
Logic then signed Shatta Wale and later signed Epixode to the label. Mr. Logic did the radio for some time and left, and that was when Shatta Wale took over to be the host of the show to interview reggae dancehall artists, including underground artists. Shatta Wale did radio for some time, and when he left, Jonny Blaze took over from him.
