Are you confused about how much you will pay for your Ghana Card? You are not alone. The National Identification Authority has cleared the air on all registration and replacement fees so nobody overcharges you.

The price you pay depends on where you go and what service you need. Understanding these official government rates helps you plan properly and save your hard-earned money.

First-time registration at any regular NIA district office remains completely free for young Ghanaians under 25 years old.

If you are 25 years or older, you will pay a small processing fee of GH¢30 at regular district centers. However, if you choose the faster Premium Centre or the 24-hour Labone Prestige Centre, the cost will be higher for that VIP convenience.

If your card gets missing, stolen, or damaged, replacing it at a standard district office costs GH¢200. Remember to get a police extract first before visiting the office.

Updating your personal details without printing a new card costs nothing. But if your correction requires printing a brand-new card, or if you are renewing an expired card, standard official charges will apply.

Never pay cash to any agent or individual standing outside the office. Official payments are made safely at approved banks like CalBank or through designated official USSD shortcodes.
