Social media can sometimes cause unnecessary panic among hardworking parents. People wake up to wild rumors claiming that the government has cancelled the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy. Such false reports spread fast on apps like WhatsApp and Facebook just to create cheap confusion.
The Ghana Education Service quickly stepped forward to clear the air about these lies. Management released an official statement dismissing all claims about the policy ending. They also rubbished claims that the Director General ordered parents to pay one thousand five hundred cedis for chop boxes or school trunks.
Logic tells us that a single director cannot wake up one morning and scrap a major national policy. The leadership of the service wants every guardian to relax and ignore fraudulent messages from online tricksters. Anyone demanding money based on those fake social media posts is simply trying to cheat innocent families.
Parents and students must always verify news through official channels before believing online panic. The Free Senior High School (SHS) program remains fully operational across the country to support our children. Staying calm and using common sense keeps us safe from malicious internet scams every single day.
