Applicants across the country are facing sudden loading errors and payment failure messages when trying to access the platform.
Official updates from the Ministry confirm that the downtime comes from unexpected server upgrades and technical maintenance. Their technical teams are currently working to fix the core infrastructure and stabilize the portal. Official government networks like Ghana.gov report that user data remains fully secured during this maintenance period.
People who already booked biometric capture appointments at local Passport Application Centers (PACs) can still go for processing. Officers at centers in Ridge, Kumasi, and Takoradi are handling existing appointments manually using local databases. However, fresh online form submissions, appointment rescheduling, and processing fee payments remain paused until full restoration.
If you need a travel document urgently for emergency medical reasons or unexpected work trips, you can visit the nearest Passport Application Center directly. Center supervisors are providing manual guidance for genuine emergency cases while system maintenance continues.
Avoid refreshing the crashed payment page repeatedly to protect your bank account or Mobile Money wallet from double charges. Keep your supporting national identity documents, like your verified Ghana Card, ready for upload once the servers return online.
