Ghana has made a historic diplomatic move to strengthen ties with our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean. President John Dramani Mahama officially signed an Air Services Agreement with Trinidad and Tobago on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
This deal opens up new possibilities for direct air connectivity between West Africa and the Caribbean, making travel much easier for business owners and tourists. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar represented Trinidad and Tobago during the high-level bilateral meeting.
Building Stronger Air Links and Trade Opportunities
For a long time, traveling to the Caribbean from West Africa meant taking long transit flights through Europe or North America. This historic aviation agreement changes the whole story by creating direct routes between Accra and Port of Spain.
