In a tragic incident along the busy N1 Highway at Dzorwulu, eleven young pupils from Ask God International School sustained serious injuries when their school bus collided with a heavy-duty tipper truck.
The terrifying accident occurred on July 30, 2026, as the children traveled home to Adjei Kojo in Tema West. Emergency services rushed the injured schoolchildren straight to the 37 Military Hospital for urgent medical care.
Following directives from President John Dramani Mahama, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, visited the hospital to offer direct support to grieving families. She officially announced that the state will cover all medical expenses for every affected child.
Preliminary police reports revealed that the school bus driver was actually the headteacher of Ask God International School. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the crash scene to determine the exact cause of the collision and identify the tipper truck driver.
Distraught parents gathered at the hospital, calling on authorities to strictly enforce highway transport rules for heavy commercial vehicles. Government officials reassured the public that police will hold anyone found guilty fully accountable under municipal laws.
