Ghanaians in underserved communities can now smile as relief comes to the health sector. The Ghana Adventist Health Services of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has officially pledged to partner with the government to complete selected Agenda 111 hospital projects across the country.
A delegation from the SDA Church, led by Dr James Antwi, presented the strategic proposal to the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, during an official visit on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The landmark proposal focuses on four essential healthcare pillars: trauma care, holistic wellness, oncology and cancer treatment, as well as comprehensive rehabilitation services.
The Health Minister warmly welcomed the Church’s decision, emphasizing that public-private partnerships remain crucial to solving the growing health demands across Ghanaian towns and villages.
Mr Akandoh clarified that the government will not ask faith-based partners to transfer cash directly into state accounts. Instead, organizations will adopt specific unfinished facilities and fund their completion directly under official guidance.
He urged the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) and other private institutions to step forward, pick specific project sites, and speed up operationalization to end local hospital shortages.
The Church’s intervention directly supports the national Agenda 111 policy, which was originally launched to construct 101 district hospitals, regional medical centers, and psychiatric facilities nationwide.
This collaborative effort will transform unfinished infrastructure into fully operational healthcare centers, ensuring millions of Ghanaians finally receive quality medical care close to home.
