Koforidua Suspect Arrested for Assault, Robbery, and Rape After Intelligence-Led Operation

The Eastern Regional Police Command has apprehended a man suspected of assaulting, robbing, and raping a woman at Okorase Junction 3 in Koforidua.

According to an official police statement released on Tuesday, June 30, the suspect, Isaac Anim, was arrested following a targeted intelligence operation into the June 15, 2026 incident. Anim allegedly robbed the victim of an iPhone 11, $200 USD, and food before sexually assaulting her and fleeing.

Officers from the Regional Police Intelligence Department (RPID) tracked Anim to a hideout in Awukugwa, near Adukrom, arresting him on Friday, June 26. Upon his arrest, police recovered the victim’s phone, which Anim had reportedly used alongside her SIM card to fraudulently withdraw mobile money.

Anim, who has since been handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), is also linked to six other local cases involving robbery, rape, and the defilement of a 10-year-old girl. The Command reiterated its firm commitment to ensuring public safety.
