Dr John Abdulai Jinapor who serves as Minister for Energy and Green Transition has drawn a firm red line. He issued a strict one month ultimatum for everyone operating under power pylons across the country to pack up and leave voluntarily. Anyone who ignores this clear warning will face forced eviction and heavy legal consequences without any sympathy.
This decisive action follows a dangerous tanker explosion near Ashaiman Middle East that severely damaged a critical transmission tower. Frank Otchere who leads the Ghana Grid Company explained that the shattered tower carries vital lines feeding electricity across Accra. Engineers are rushing to fix the damage within twelve hours to prevent massive power outages in the capital city.
Authorities will collaborate with police and security forces to clear all illegal occupants once the grace period expires. Officials will confiscate and auction any items left behind by stubborn encroachers. Citizens must prioritize safety over convenience because playing with electricity infrastructure threatens the entire nation.
