NOTICE: ECG Scheduled Power Outages in Accra East Due to Akosombo Substation Fire

ECG Power Outage Areas Today April

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has officially announced a series of scheduled power outages affecting several communities within the Accra East district. These emergency interruptions are scheduled to take place tonight, from midnight (12:00 AM) until 6:00 AM – Monday, 27th April, 2026.

This measure has become necessary due to a significant reduction in power supply following the recent fire outbreak at the Akosombo Power Control Centre. While engineers are working around the clock to restore the national grid to full capacity, the current deficit requires a temporary load-management exercise to prevent a total system collapse.
