Things got completely out of hand at Obuasi Senior High Technical School after a violent late night riot erupted on campus. Students allegedly launched a brutal attack on their headmaster over wild allegations of secret ritual activities.
The head of security reported that he ran outside after hearing loud screaming and confusion around midnight. To his utter disbelief he spotted a group of angry students charging at the headmaster with heavy wooden sticks and sharp cutlasses.
The violent mob went on a rampage across the school premises. They completely destroyed the headmaster’s official residence, smashed parked vehicles, and even broke down the campus water fountain.
Rumors quickly spread among the students claiming someone buried a young child underground inside the school compound. Nobody knows who spread the story or who allegedly performed the act, but it triggered massive rage across the boarding house.
The headmaster suffered severe bodily injuries, bleeding profusely from deep bruises before help arrived. Interestingly, some Form 1 students tried to step in and defend their headmaster during the assault. That brave move angered the Form 2 students, who severely beat up one Form 1 student and sent him straight to the hospital.
Even when police officers arrived on the scene, the rioting students refused to panic or disperse. Residents living nearby expressed shock over the violence and questioned why no warning shots were fired to restore order earlier.
As of Wednesday morning, police officers arrested six students to assist with ongoing investigations. Many worried parents and local residents are now calling for an immediate temporary closure of the school to prevent further escalation and ensure total safety.
