Peace on campus turned into complete chaos when violent confrontations erupted between students of Okuapeman Senior High School and Mount Sinai Senior High School. The fierce disturbances within the Akuapem North Municipality left several properties and school structures heavily vandalized or burnt. Law enforcement officers quickly stepped in to restore order after reprisal attacks threatened the safety of residents and teachers alike.
Police authorities confirmed that more than ten students have already been picked up in connection with the destructive rampage. Eastern Regional Police Commander DCOP Joseph Owusu-Bempah noted that security personnel are actively hunting down other culprits who managed to escape during the swoop. Investigations reveal that some teachers might have incited the teenagers, prompting stern warnings that any complicit instructor will face the full wrath of the law.
Six students sustained varying injuries during the chaotic exchanges and required immediate medical attention at the hospital. While most have been treated and discharged, a few remain under medical observation to ensure full recovery. Meanwhile, the Regional Security Council has ordered immediate safety measures to calm escalating tensions across the affected academic environments.
Parents and guardians are being urged to counsel their wards against engaging in destructive campus riots and senseless violence. The Ghana Education Service continues to collaborate closely with security agencies to fish out every single rogue element involved in the shameful incident. School should be a safe space for building futures rather than a battleground for needless supremacy struggles.
