The state machinery descended heavily on her because of an anonymous social media handle known widely as Ghana Jollof.That particular TikTok account is notorious for dropping heavy criticisms against President John Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.
Instead of tracking down invisible digital handles hiding behind phone screens, investigators zeroed in on this mother of three. The whole neighborhood in Techiman has been murmuring because nobody believes a busy medical professional has time for high-level political plots.
Court room drama and the missing logic
When she finally appeared before the Adenta Circuit Court, the charges read out sounded like a Hollywood action movie script.Authorities claimed she conspired with the mysterious TikTok account to plot a coup against the first family. The trial judge listened to arguments and ordered her to spend the next two weeks in a police cell. Meanwhile, lawyers and human rights defenders are scratching their heads over the scanty evidence presented before the magistrate.
Logic dictates that if someone is arrested for running a specific internet page, that particular page should go silent immediately. Surprisingly, the Ghana Jollof TikTok account has continued posting fresh videos and hot commentary even while she sits behind bars.
