This is my personal, honest opinion on which mall is safe when going out shopping for either groceries, homeware, food, or whatever you name it right in the heart of Accra where you may find yourself.
West Hills Mall

No. 1 on the list is West Hills Mall, since it’s my most visited mall. I love West Hills Mall and I think its a personal relationship I have developed with time also with a very spacious compound for car parks with taxi for dropping, with auto companies around to help fix and wash your cars. Wow. But the mall itself and the stores are a bit small, looking at the compound that they have, unlike how China malls are built. West Hills Mall recently introduced Loyalty Reward Cards for shoppers and it’s a nice place to do your day-to-day shopping for your home;

they have amazing shops ranging from groceries, gadgets, kids’ wear, banks, clinics, cinemas, and even photo shops. Compared to the other shops, West Hills Mall is a bit noisy, but I like the security and neatness of the place. For security, I will rate them 6/10.

CHINA MALL LTD. – WEIJA

The 2nd on the list is China Mall (CHINA MALL LTD. – WEIJA), since it’s just behind West Hills Mall let’s dive in but take note of the name, some people also identify this mall as Bortianor China Mall. I love this mall as well, but it has a dirty compound and all that. That is not really my problem if I get what I need at a cheaper cost. Bro, the joy I used to feel entering that mall! Err, the items I could get

not top quality, but at least they could make my life easier and were very cheap. That mall was my go-to at any time I needed items for my home. for security I give them 4/10 because they dont really care about where and how you pack your car.

Accra Mall

The 3rd is Almighty Accra Mall at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange. Accra Mall is the most popular mall in Ghana right now, bro. That mall is packed with items to blow your mind. What can’t you see there? Basically, it has everything you need, but the parking space is not really spacious. Sometimes you get there and there is no space for you to even park. Accra Mall has everything West Hills Mall has, plus an entertainment space, which is my favorite. They have a space for entertainment—sometimes for salsa dancing, sometimes for seminars and music performances

just to entertain visitors as they eat and shop. Since I am an entertainment lover, I love it anytime I encounter such activities. I know business people will not agree to this, but what can I say? It’s personal. For security, I will rate them 7/10.

EU Chinatown Shopping

No. 4 is—let’s go “BECK” to Weija—EU Chinatown Shopping Center Ltd, another cool mall on the Kasoa Highway at Lower McCarthy Hill, off Mallam. This mall was opened not long ago compared to the China Mall behind West Hills Mall, but bro, don’t joke. The first time I entered, I was like, “Woooow.” They really have items and quality products.
I compared their products’ cost to the China Mall behind West Hills Mall, and their products were more expensive, but of higher quality than the West Hills China Mall. They had phone cases, kids’ learning materials, and my favorite plastic wallpapers and panels for offices and homes, which I needed at that time for my office. For security, I will give them 5/10.

Achimota Mall

The next—No. 5 is Achimota Mall, a cool place for shopping for people living around Achimota, Dome, Lapaz, St. John’s, or Ashongman, etc. They have basically everything West Hills Mall has, including police boot for extra security, which is very important in that area. Even with that extra security, the place is still not as secured as West Hills Mall and Accra Mall.

I recently took my children to the kids playground, and we could see people walking around spying on us, rascals following and monitoring our movements as we walked to our car.
Motorbikes were parked in the car park for over an hour, monitoring visitors. My last visit before this current one at Achimota Mall was the same experience oo, so I decided to go outside and feel the experience. I noticed one guy who was following me at the mall followed me out, tracking me, so I quickly stopped a taxi and left. I love the playground for kids, but bro, for security, I will give them 3/10.

CM China Mall (Near Accra Mall)
The next is No. 6: CM China Mall (Near Accra Mall). I hear it is the biggest China mall in Accra—I stand to be corrected—but the products they have are very impressive, and their prices were cool. It’s my new home appliance joint now. The mall itself is very spacious, so you don’t have people clashing with each other while shopping unlike at the West Hills China Mall.
I also notice that shopping try walking from Accra Mall to the China Mall since its a few steps away but bro I got lot in between, at a point I didn’t know where to go. Asking is not always the best option bro. the man almost directed me to a land of nowhere. But all in all, I give them 5/10 for security.

I have been to the two China malls on Spintex Road, but bro, the China mall behind Accra Mall is super. Kitchen hardware, home furniture, and everything else are classic, bro. I was shocked. They have a very small space, but it’s cool that they are managing it well. But the size of the mall is almost like one of the China malls on Spintex Road that I visited; that one too was super, bro. I remember I was looking for office chairs—wow. Yeah, I think it’s the one that shares a junction with Get4less. They also had a small space at the entrance that was too packed with people, and since my security is important, I will give them 4/10.
This is my personal opinion. I am yet to visit other malls, and I will keep you updated on this page.
