Thirty-two people have died after a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, October 5.

The aircraft was travelling from Benin City to Lagos on a routine mission when air traffic controllers lost contact with it.

The wreckage was later located near a naval base in Igbokoda.

President Bola Tinubu has declared three days of national mourning following the crash.

He has also ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations continue.
